RATES

On the initial phone call or email, we will be happy to briefly discuss your needs and schedule an appointment.

Travel time is not billable to the client.*

We will come to your home or office and help resolve the issues. During this time, we will also assess your current situation and offer our advice on how to improve productivity. We will also make sure you have a current backup plan in place (something that should never be overlooked). We will sit with you and help organize your files, iTunes, iPhoto, Address Book, and iCal. If you are new to Mac, we can give you an overview of how the Mac Operating System works and get you acclimated to the Mac environment. You’ll be up and running in no time. We can also help you with your iPhone or iPad, printers and any home/office network issues.

It’s really an open appointment to address any concerns you may have.

Rates
Service rates are billed at $150/hour with a one-hour minimum charge.
To help reduce your costs, additional time is billed in only 15 minute increments at $37.50 per increment.
This applies to all service and support.

Remote/Phone Support Available
We will email you a link to download and install a program which allows us to see your desktop and navigate your computer.
Phone and/or remote support is available at $37.50 for each 15 minute increments.

Payment
Payment is due at time of service. We accept cash, checks.
For established clients payment arrangement can be negotiated.

Back-ups
Hard drives can crash and files can become corrupted.
While every caution is taken to prevent data loss, it is highly recommend that important data be backed up prior to our visit.
If you have not backed-up your data, we can do this for you.

Billable Hours**
A large majority of problems can be handled within the initial 1 - 1.5 hour of service.
However, please be prepared for the possibility that more time will be required.
This is especially true in cases where data is needed to be transferred, backed-up or software reinstalled.

CANCELLATIONS:
If you must cancel or reschedule an appointment, 24 hours notice is appreciated.

* There is no charge for travel within reasonable distance. We do charge for travel to areas outside those boundaries at half our hourly rate ($75/hr) for up to an hour. Travel beyond those areas or overnight should be negotiated in advance. We understand that sometimes "regular business hours" isn't convenient for everyone. We would be happy to work within your schedule.

**What are billable hours?
If we’re actively engaged in activities serving you that require our knowledge, time, & expertise then common sense says that it’s billable time. Time spent consulting with you on hardware, software, or networking decisions is billable time. Meeting with you at your home, office, the Apple Store, or speaking to vendors on your behalf is considered billable time. Installing, maintaining, or repairing your system(s) is billable time. But we are known to be very reasonable

What ISN’T billable time?
What we don't do is take a break on your time, eat lunch on your time or converse with other clients on your time. If we need to step away while we are working with you, we deduct that from your billable time. It's as simple as that.

What about emails, phone calls, & remote support?
We try to answer most of your questions in emails or over the phone. It’s a great way to get your questions answered for non-emergencies. Having said that, an email asking us for detailed, step-by-step instructions of how to re-install your operating system.....well, I think you get it. Phone calls under 5 minutes are also FREE. As for lengthier calls where we actually accomplish something together...time will be billed in 15 minute increments. Pretty much the same applies to the remote support where you allow us access to your computer remotely and we fix your problem.

What happens when it only takes us 15 minutes to fix your problem and we have a 1 hour minimum?

Do you still have to pay for a full hour?
Yes, its only fair due to scheduling and travel time. And since we are there, we are more than happy to stay for the full hour. We'd feel great spending more time helping you. Perhaps a little additional training, organizing your system, running some overdue updates or we can spend time showing you neat things about your Mac or Apps that you didn't know existed.
